August 2011 - Boxeadora, Bogota, Colombia

Angie Benjumea is 26 years old. She weighs 51 kilos, and has been boxing for one year. The reason why she decided to pick up boxing was that she felt insecure in the streets of Bogota, where reports of robberies and 'Paseo Millonario' are at an all-time high. Paseo Millonario is a habit where people after entering a taxi get beaten up or usually drugged, and are forced to empty all their bank accounts, their houses, etc. It often goes along with rape. The drug used, 'escopolamina', makes a person lose his free will and not remember anything. It causes permanent brain damage.
In the 50's it was used by the CIA as the 'truth serum'.
